About KinClan Guided Tours of Scotland
Born in 1969 at Airthrey Castle near the Abbey Craig, the site of the Wallace Monument, just outside Stirling and brought up in the small cathedral city of Dunblane, the history of Scotland was ingrained in me from an early age. I now live in Glasgow, Scotland's largest city and have also spent many years living and working in the West Highlands as well as a number of years living in England. After study -ing HND business studies at Glasgow College of Commerce in the early nineties, I worked in the family business in the seafood industry, it was during this time that I was inspired to start KinClan Guided Tours of Scotland. My job involved travelling around Scotland, sourcing and buying shellfish
to supply the best hotels, restaurants in the country. This background has allowed me to build a unique knowledge of the geography, history & best places to eat, stay & visit in Scotland.
During my business travels I noticed there were plenty of scheduled coach trips providing a fixed itinerary day tour from Glasgow and Edinburgh but very few private tour providers, outside of the chauffeur hire companies, offering bespoke tours and multi - day trips. In the past ten years I have also detected that there has been a trend amongst the more discerning visitors to Scotland to travel independently with a desire to explore at their own pace and in their own time, people who require choice, flexibility and good value when choosing a tailor made tour. With this in mind KinClan Guided Tours of Scotland was born in 2008.
