Born in  1969  at Airthrey  Castle near the Abbey  Craig,  the site  of  the  Wallace  Monument,   just  outside  Stirling  and brought  up  in  the  small  cathedral  city  of  Dunblane,  the history of Scotland was ingrained in me from an early age. I now live in Glasgow,  Scotland's  largest  city and have also spent many years living and working in the  West Highlands as well as a number of years living in England.   After
studying HND business studies at Glasgow College of Commerce in the early nineties, I worked in my family's wholesale seafood business, where my job remit involved travelling around  Scotland, sourcing & buying shellfish to supply the best hotels & restaurants in the country. It was during this time that I had the idea for Guided Tours of Scotland. This background  allowed me to build a unique  knowledge of the geography,  history and best places to eat,  stay & visit in Scotland. It is with the benefit of this knowledge that I am able to create unique, fun and interesting itineraries for my clients.

During my business travels throughout Scotland in the 90's and 00's I noticed the growth of scheduled coach trips providing fixed itinerary day and multi-day tours from Glasgow & Edinburgh but very few specialised private tour providers, outwith the chauffeur hire companies, offering bespoke tours and multi - day tours of Scotland. In the past ten years I have also detected that there has been a trend among the more discerning visitors to Scotland to travel independently with a desire to explore at their own pace and in their own time, people who require choice, flexibility and good value when choosing a tailor made tour. With this in mind Guided Tours of Scotland was born in 2008.
I am an extremely careful  &  considerate driver where the comfort of my passengers always comes first. I have held a clean  driving  licence  for 30  years  and  have clocked  up hundreds  of  thousands of miles driving on the roads of the UK. I hold a Disclosure Scotland certificate (police check).   My  vehicle  is comprehensively insured for executive hire  & touring. I operate in full compliance with the licensing regulations of the Civic Government (Scotland) Act 1982, Section 22 (c).
With my unique background & knowledge,  built up over the years, of Scotland's history, geography, people and politics, I  am  in  a position to offer an individual tour  that  is  fun, informative and good value, with me as your local Scottish tour guide. If  you  are  considering a personalized tour of Scotland (possibly incorporating a bit of Ireland, England or Wales)  in 2018 or sometime in the  near  future then please  do  not hesitate to  contact me to discuss  your vacation,  obtain a quote or even just to ask me for some general advice!

My nine seat minivan carries 8 passengers, ideal for families, small groups or couples. For those travelling with a lot of luggage, golf clubs, bikes etc, I have a trailer which can be hooked up on request. My minibus comes with;  privacy windows (with blinds for the middle row), front and rear compartment A/C control, leather upholstery with 6 reclining, forward facing seats in the rear with ample leg room and 3 seats in the front cab, making it the ideal touring vehicle, perfect for relaxing in on a sightseeing day trip, multi-day tour or between distilleries on a whisky tour of Scotland!
I look forward to welcoming you on one of my unique and personalized tours of Scotland and showing you around our beautiful coastline, mystical isles, mountains, lochs and historic towns and cities sometime in the near future!
