Situated on the East Coast, Scotland's capital city provides plenty of opportunities for day-trips to the surrounding area. Choose from a trip down East Lothian's 'Golf Coast' which could take you down as far as Northumberland, including Holy Isle and the castles of Bamburgh and Alnwick (aka Hogwarts!). Due south of Edinburgh lies the Southern Uplands and the Borders area, famous for its many abbeys.
